Who are we?
Finding Passions is a small project started by two high school students seeking to create something totally tubular.
But before diving into our own glorious passion project (one that we are yet to settle on) we thought that the journey to get there would be one worth sharing. In our search for a project that we enjoy, we wanted to explore others' passions in the hopes of spreading inspiration! We hope that this is a platform both for people to share and express what they love and for others to learn about possible activities & hobbies that they can enjoy!

Why did we start Finding Passions?

Every great project has a great origin story. Projects to combat a problem in society, projects that express one’s beautiful talent within them, projects to give back, projects to relax, and so many more!
​Our story on the other hand began one fateful lazy summer evening. All around us were perfect people with perfect passion projects. They had it all figured out! They had made an impact on the world. People our age were enacting change with their powerful ideas and organizations. We were at first intimidated at the notion of our peers making such a strong impact on the world at such a young age. As we whined and wallowed over a FaceTime call, we asked ourselves: How did they come up with their ideas? How did it become so successful? Why can’t we do something like that? Although we were unsure about the first two questions, we realized that we did indeed know the answer to the third: Why not?
​Driven by our admiration for their work and a desire to create something that actually mattered, we were inspired to create a passion project of our own. The problem was: we weren’t really sure where to begin. Both of us had difficulties grasping what our true passion was and were unsure of how to embark on such an extensive project without knowing what we wanted to accomplish. Although our academic inclinations differed, we shared similar insecurities about the future and how we could create something worthwhile. And at that moment, during that fateful FaceTime call, we put a temporary pause on the wallowing, as we came to the realization that the best way to develop our passion and create a meaningful project was to first learn about others’ passions!
It's a beautiful thing when people are able to talk about what they are passionate about! Peoples’ eyes lit up as they delve into the sea of detail behind the thing that brings them joy, whether it be their work or recreational activity.
​Thus, Finding Passions was born! This is our journey to creating a passion project that is meaningful to us and others, by first exploring and talking about the passions of others. We are excited to share and collect stories about the activities and things that make people tick! We hope that this project will help people become more open to sharing what they love, show appreciation for the many marvelous creators in the world, while also guiding our own journey.
Our Story
Why did we start Finding Passions?
We started this project to hopefully understand more about ourselves and our passions. During this crucial part of our high school life, it’s important not to create something for the sake of creating it, but instead to create something that you’re passionate about and hope to make change for. At this time of our lives, we are still in the midst of discovering what we are passionate about and creating a platform in which people can share their passions and hobbies would help us and others get a better insight on what they could hope to pursue in the future.
What do we hope to accomplish?
This started as something that could help us learn more about what we could possibly pursue. However, we realized that it can be a lot bigger than us -- we hope that eventually, it can become a platform where people, regardless of age, gender, or passion, will be able to share their passions and various projects. In addition, we hope that this project will help people become more open to sharing what they love and feeling passionate about their projects and hobbies, and we want to help people pursue their passions. And lastly, (because we can relate so much), we hope that this project will inspire people who are struggling with finding their own ‘passion’ to go out there and pursue a project or hobby.
